The Islanders Are Moving to Brooklyn!
New York Islanders owner Charles Wang announced that the team will begin play at the Barclay's Center in Brooklyn, after the team's lease with Nassau Coliseum expires in 2015. The team will play in Brooklyn for at least 25 years.
The team will still be known as the "Islanders," and will retain their signature team logo.
#Islanders was a trending hash-tag on Twitter, worldwide, as the announcement was made.

Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano released this tweet:
"No one has done more to retain the New York Islanders than my administration. I have supported various proposals to redevelop the HUB including a public referendum in which voters chose not to construct a new sports arena. Its [sic] sad and unfortunate that political opponents chose to oppose my plan and instead continued to support the Culture of NO on Long Island."
