The Department of Justice is planning to taking over the U.S. Department of Education investigation into New York State’s mascot ban. Earlier this month Secretary of Education Linda McMahon announced at Massapequa High School that the ban violated the Civil Rights Act.
The New York State Education Department said the federal investigation is a blatant attempt to do a political favor for the Massapequa Board of Education.
