NEW YORK (AP) — It’s rare to get a do-over in life. But some folks in New York got one when it comes to their weddings. Hundreds of couples whose nuptials were canceled or scaled back by the pandemic got the chance to re-do their I-dos. The Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts hosted an event Sunday for those who craved a New York City wedding, but couldn’t because of COVID. The event featured a multicultural ceremony, music, dancing and words from Mayor Eric Adams. But the website for the event notes the ceremony is not legally binding.
