State launches monkeypox text message alerts

East Farmingdale, NY- Amid rising cases of the monkeypox virus, New York State health officials announced Thursday a new moneypox text message alert system. New Yorkers can sign up by texting the word MONKEYPOX to 81366 for information including cases, symptoms, testing and vaccination. As of July 14, New York State has recorded 414 confirmed monkeypox cases, the majority remain in New York City, four cases in Suffolk County and one in Nassau County.
