South Huntington BOE to add armed security guards outside of schools

The South Huntington Board of Education voted unanimously to station armed security guards outside of all school buildings. The only time the guards would be inside the schools would be in the event of an emergency.

It will cost $750,000 to hire the armed security guards.

The board calls the move another measure to protect students and staff.
