Suffolk police say a 12-year-old male student stabbed a 13-year-old male student at Lindenhurst Middle School Monday afternoon.
The injured student was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital, where police said he is in critical but stable condition.
The student accused in the stabbing was taken to Suffolk’s 1st Precinct to be questioned by detectives.
The school was locked down for nearly two hours after the stabbing.
