Pollina sentenced to 25 years to life

judge, court trial

Angela Pollina has been sentenced to 25 years to life in the murder of 8-year-old Thomas Valva.

Pollina was found guilty of second-degree murder and four counts of child endangerment in mid-March. Thomas’ father, ex-NYPD officer Michael Valva, previously was convicted of murder and sentenced to 25 to life in prison last year.

Prosecutors say the pair forced Thomas and his brother Anthony to sleep in the freezing garage of their Center Moriches home.

Thomas died of hypothermia in January 2020.
