Body of missing boater found

In this photo taken July 12, 2014, personnel on a U.S. Coast Guard response boat out of Station Kings Point, N.Y., head for Glen Island in western Long Island Sound near New Rochelle, N.Y. as they prepare to keep boaters at a safe distance from barge that would soon be the water base of a fireworks display. At private parties on the waters of Long Island Sound, lined by some of the country's most exclusive real estate, hosts setting off elaborate fireworks displays enjoy a little-known benefit. The body of the boater who went missing in the Great South Bay Sunday has been found.

James Jaronczyk, 28, was found by a Suffolk County marine rescue team just west of the Village Pool, officials at the Village of Babylon said on Facebook.

“Earlier this morning, missing boater James Jaronczyk was discovered by Suffolk County Underwater Marine Rescue with family and friends gathered as they have been over the last 4 days since James went missing after a boating accident on Sunday, May 7th, 2023,” the village’s Thursday morning post said.
