The Suffolk County officer who was shot and wounded Thursday afternoon in Coram is in stable condition.
Suffolk County Police Commissioner Rodney Harrison says the officer who was part of a surveillance team was hit once in the upper right thigh after the suspect they were watching tried to flee the seen.
The wounded officer was rushed to Stony Brook University Hospital.
