The Department of Transportation has announced that work is being suspended at three construction sites on Long Island ahead of the Memorial Day Weekend to ease travel conditions for beachgoers throughout the summer months.
Work on the drawbridges on the Loop and Meadowbrook Parkways in Nassau County and the Shelter Island South Ferry dock in Suffolk County will be put on hold till construction work starts up again mid-September.
