5 teens had to rescued from dangerous rip currents off of Long Beach last night.
They went swimming with no regular lifeguards on duty and got stuck in a rip current.
The lifeguards who were working as a skeleton emergency crew were patrolling the beaches and noticed the five young people in distress.
They swam floatation devices to them and pulled them safely in.
