Stony Brook restaurant to close after customers got sick from eating improperly stored rice

Kumo Japanese Steakhouse in Stony Brook, the restaurant were 28 customers got sick from eating improperly stored cooked rice announced Saturday that it is closing.
The last day of business will be Sunday, Sept. 24.
The restaurant added that it would refund any gift card balances immediately. They requested customers reach out via email to [email protected] with their gift card number, adding that they will respond within 48 hours.
