Two Long Island school districts are taking legal action against the state mascot ban

The Wantagh Union Free School District and the Wyandanch Union Free School District are taking legal action against the state mascot ban. They are suing the state Board of Regents to keep their team name of the “Warriors.”
According to the lawsuit, both districts are willing to stop using Native American images but want to keep the Warriors name.
The Massapequa School District is also challenging the state ruling in court.
