The Suffolk County police department is partnering with the LGBT Network for a new hotline to target hate crimes.
The hotline opens Wednesday for National Coming Out Day.
The goal is to give Long Islanders and New York City residents an outlet for unreported crimes involving the community.
The Number is 888-LGBT-HLP (888-542-8457)
