A man was fatally shot by a Suffolk police officer on Tuesday night after police said he confronted two officers with swords.
Police responded to the scene when a neighbor reported a man acting violent in a home in East Northport. When officers arrived, 54-year-old Alan Weber refused to come outside and was screaming and breaking items in the home.
Weber was wearing a fencing mask and holding two fencing swords. The officers ordered Weber to drop the swords, but he refused.
