Rep. Anthony D’Esposito issued a motion Thursday to expel fellow New York Republican Rep. George Santos on the House floor.
His office said that a vote could come in a matter of days.
Under House rules, two-thirds must vote for the expulsion in order for it to happen.
The move comes as Santos is set to be arraigned Friday on a 23-count indictment at the federal courthouse in Central Islip.
