Gov. Hochul takes action to fight hate crimes

Gov. Hochul is pledging to take action against hate crimes and speech in New York State.
During a speech at Columbia University, Hochul announced $50 million in grants for local law enforcement to bolster protection against hate speech and crimes, and $25 million for grants dedicated to fortifying communities against hate crimes.
The governor’s address comes amid a surge in hate crimes during the Israel-Hamas war.
