New York House Republicans believe they are close to the two-thirds majority of votes needed to expel Rep. George Santos from Congress.
Rep. Anthony D’Esposito says an expulsion vote for Santos will “likely” take place Wednesday night in the House.
D’Esposito issued a motion last week to expel Santos on the House floor.
Recently elected House Speaker Mike Johnson said, “We got a lot of discussions this week, we’ll see what happens,” when asked about the Santos expulsion resolution.
Santos posted Monday afternoon that he will let his colleagues make their decision without interference.
