Thief steals car with woman sleeping in back seat

Nassau County police are investigating a car robbery outside the French Workshop a bakery in Plainview over the weekend.
Officers responded to a call about the car theft Saturday morning, when the police arrived they were informed that a woman was sleeping in the rear of the car when it was stolen.
The woman awoke when the vehicle suddenly used its brakes. The suspect driving the vehicle noticed the victim seated in the rear, displayed a knife and demanded she exit.
The victim complied and the vehicle fled away. There were no injuries reported.
