Hundreds of Long Islanders attended two public hearings at the Uniondale Marriott hosted by the Town of Hempstead to weighed in on Las Vegas Sands plan to build a casino and resort at the Nassau Coliseum site.

The forums focused on the potential environmental impact of the project.
People who spoke out against the proposed casino, said it would increases traffic, pollution and crime.
Those for the project said it would bring jobs and millions in tax revenue.
