The Sachem Central School District says it may have to cut staff to make up for an $11.7 million budget deficit.
The district says its budget deficit could still grow depending on how much aid it receives from the state. Both the Amityville and Riverhead School districts have recently announced plans to lay off staff due to budget issues.
